Dear Glenn,

                Ken and I would like to take a minute to thank you and your team for doing such an amazing job on our addition.  We are extremely happy with the workmanship and effort that was put into turning our vision into reality.

                There are several things that put you and your team above any other contractor we have worked with in the past.  First, was the timeliness of work completion. You had told us that our addition and outdoor room would probably take 3-4 months. We would tell people that and they would laugh and say, "That is what they all say."  It was completed in under 3 months, much to the delight of our children who were displaced from their rooms.  Your crew was there every morning at 7 a.m. and they never left until 3:30 p.m. each day.  We never had to wake up wondering if they were going to show up that day or felt like we had to manage them while on the job.

                 Second, you and the team were very receptive to our input and questions.  We changed many of the interior design details as we progressed through the work.  We were never put off or made to feel like our thoughts were not taken seriously or incorporated. It was a pleasure to work with Jesse and the other guys. They were extremely respectful and friendly.  Also, the subcontractors you have chosen to work with were equally professional.  We would recommend them as well to our friends and neighbors. They would answer any questions and work with us to ensure we were happy with the job.

                Lastly, was the overall professionalism of you and your team. Everything was given to us in writing and explained in advance.  Also, the job site was cleaned up every afternoon at the end of the work day, with very little debris being left out.  Materials were stored neatly, not in an unsafe manner.  We felt comfortable having you and your team in our home.  The workmanship was superior.  Every inspection was signed off the first time and we received many compliments from the inspectors upon their visits. That says a lot!  Only the finest materials were used and we never felt like corners were being cut. 

                Overall, it was a wonderful experience.  I know not many people can say that!  We want to thank you and your crew again for doing such fantastic work. The addition and outdoor room are lovely. They complement our home and blend in as if always there.  We are very satisfied with the work and would highly recommend you to anyone in need of a general contractor.  Please feel free to put our name down on your list of references. We are happy to speak to any future clients on your behalf.

Although we have verbally expressed how happy we are with our home remodel, I also wanted to write something that you could use for future customers or possibly your web site.  Also, feel free to use us as a reference as we have nothing but positive comments and praise for you and your team of professionals.       

Van Capelle construction completed a major home remodel for us.  The project exceeded all of our original expectations and the feedback we have received from family and friends has been nothing but overwhelmingly positive.     

There were many variables under consideration in our decision as to which General Contractor we would end up doing business with. While the total project cost was important, cost alone did not drive us to do business with Van Capelle construction company.  It was also about our comfort level with the professionalism, knowledge and experience of the entire team at Van Capelle Construction.  Glenn and his employees were all very skilled in their duties and always punctual and professional. 

Glenn is a present (hands on) supervisor that ensures the job remains on schedule and ensures quality control at all levels of the job.  He makes himself readily available day or night seven days a week.  We cannot express how happy we are with the outcome of our build.   Truly amazing!  If we were to ever build another home or complete another major re-model, there's no question Van Capelle construction would be the contractor of choice.

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to write to you about how much John & I love our remodel that you guys did for us.

When we finally decided to go ahead with our remodel we got a lot of bids for the job. You were very patient with us, we had some ideas on what we wanted to do whether we were going to add a second story or just "gut" the inside and redo everything. With your guidance & experience you were able to guide us in the direction that would keep us around our budget. Jesse and the crew were always here on time & very professional. You & Jesse always made sure our questions & concerns were answered. You also suggested some great decorating ideas for us (ie shower cut outs, tile patterns, painting of rooms w/ 1 or 2 walls a different color) that we really love!!

We started our project right after the first of the year and you estimated it would take about 3 months to complete. Now, when ever contractors give you an "estimated completion date" you can always guarantee that there will be an additional 4 or 5 months on top of that. But that was not the case with you guys!! You completed our project on time and actually you were done 2 or 3 days ahead of what you estimated!! I can't tell you how many complements we get on our home and we are always sure to tell them what a fabulous job Van Capelle Construction did for us. We have and will continue to pass your name along to family & friends who are interested in remodeling their homes.

In 2006, we embarked on our first remodel with you and it was a major second story addition.  In fact, we had pursued purchasing a new house at the time; however, because it was the height of the housing market, we felt our more prudent move was to invest in our current house.  We couldn't have imagined how wonderful our house was going to turn out.  This was definitely the right move.  Back then your team - Mario, Jesse and all the guys - we're unbelievably professional, accommodating, clean and a pleasure to have around my family for nearly three months.  So, five years later when we were finally in a position to remodel our kitchen, you were naturally our first choice for the job. 

In this current economy we wanted to make sure we were frugal with our finances, and admittedly, we tested the water with other contractors to get a few quotes.  While some quotes came in less expensive, it didn't take us too long to realize "you get what you pay for".  Some bids were like comparing apples to oranges, and in the end, we realized Van Capelle Construction was the best value for the superb quality you provide.  And, after meeting with you a second time, we couldn't deny the fact we trusted your experience, professional eye, and care above all others.  

Once again this time, your team was completely awesome.  It was great to be reunited with you and Jesse again, and it felt like home.  Even our dog, Duke looked forward to the days when he could hang out with you and feel like part of the team.  The kitchen remodel experience was unbelievably smooth.  Your patience and guidance was invaluable every step of the way.  As our kitchen and adjacent bar were transformed, it seemed to give new life and splendor to an already beautiful house.  We have never enjoyed our house as we do now.  Every guest who steps into our house is completely impressed by your craftsmanship and attention to detail.  We can't express how grateful we are for the care and professionalism you and your team brought to our house.  Please feel free to use us as a referral anytime!

After getting bids from several contractors, we hired Glenn for our remodeling job.  His bid was lower, and even more important to us, his timeline was significantly shorter (almost half the time!) of what the other contractors proposed.  It sounded almost too good to be true, but we put our faith in Glenn as he came across as an honest, trustworthy guy who would be pleasant to work with.  Judging by the number of years he has successfully worked in the business, we figured he must know what he was doing.

Our job was a big one.  We completely gutted and remodeled a four bedroom, three bathroom house, including knocking down several walls, removing drop ceilings, rebuilding exterior walls after mold remediation, refinishing the garage, and redoing all of the ductwork (I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting!).  We closed escrow on Friday, December 10^th, and Glenn's crew began demo on Monday, December 13^th.  We moved into a completely renovated home on Friday, February 25^th, barely two and a half months later.

We were amazed, as were our friends, family, and neighbors, who all had horror stories of much less-involved remodeling jobs taking six to twelve months or more to complete.  During the project, a day did not go by that there were less than three or four guys working on our house, but more commonly there were more like seven or eight or more from several different trades.  Even better than the fact that Glenn stuck to his timeline is that the work he and his tradesmen did is of the highest quality.  From his tile workers, to his painters, to his drywall guys, I could not be more impressed with the quality of the work that they did.

We went with a very modern style in our home, which Glenn had not had much experience with, but it did not phase him at all.  He quickly adjusted to our tastes and modified his techniques to suit our style.  All of his tradesmen and workers were friendly and polite, and Glenn himself was a pleasure to work with.  I never felt uncomfortable about approaching him with questions or changes (and there were more than a few!).  He was very good about explaining each step of the process and keeping the lines of communication open, especially when it came to the budget.  Any deviation from the original budget was a result of additions and changes my husband and I made rather than any hidden costs or deception on Glenn's part.  Everything cost what he initially said it would cost, and as my husband and I made changes to the original plan, Glenn would always print up a new budget to keep us up-to-date as to where we stood.

Overall, we could not have been happier with Glenn and his crew.  I would not hesitate for a second to recommend him to anyone I know.  We took a bit of a leap of faith in hiring him because we found him through an ad rather than a personal recommendation, but I am so glad that we went with our gut feeling about him.  When someone walks into our home for the first time, the first word out of their mouth is almost always "WOW!", and we have Glenn to thank for that.
